Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Redeeming The Time

Weekly Reminder

Weekly Reminder...

The Weekly Reminder is an informative tool to help people who read it consider what the man of God has said. This weekend’s articles are based on what was heard on March 21 & 22, 2009 in the Westbury assembly.

Anybody who really reads the bible will have an understanding of the times to know that we are living at the very end. There is not a lot of time for Jesus to destroy this evil world and replace it with His wonderful kingdom. It is sad to know that not everyone will understand the necessity to change their lives, to come closer to God but most of the people inside of the church will move away from God to go after the lust of this world (1 Timothy 4:1). That is what we’ve been taught last weekend; Br. Antoine mentioned the scripture in 2 Timothy 3:13 saying that “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse”. As much as the day of God comes nearer, instead of serving God some will leave the church, betray their faith (I Timothy 1:14), to try to go at it (live life) on their own; this is one of the characteristic of the end. Paul wrote in verse 1, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come”. He goes on to say, “For men shall be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God,” “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (verse 2 & 5). This will happen not because the Gospel is not being preached but because the Devil is at work knowing that he is running out of time (Revelation 12:12).

That is why Br. Antoine quoted the scripture in Ephesians 5:16 “redeem the time”. We have to work today to store more of the word of God in our lives and more of His spirit; believe me the days ahead are not going to be any easier for those who serve God faithfully. We are living in a very good time now where we are free to serve God, with no persecutions. We are free to carry a Bible with us, to come together in a place to worship God, but there will come a time where the only Bible we will be able to carry is the Word (of God) written in our hearts, the Spirit of God dwelling in the very inside because there will be a daily threat over the lives of the people of God as it was in the last days of the early Church. Only those who had a spiritual experience with God, who tasted His Holy Spirit, who today already sees the promises of God will be able to stand in those days to come.

That is why it is important today to take the Church seriously, the time is coming where the church will flee into the wilderness (Revelation 12:6); not a physical place but a time of suffering, a time of spiritual famine, no more gathering, no more preaching every weekend to give you the word. You will be by yourself facing the beast, just like Stephen when he was by himself being stoned for his belief. Stephen the first martyr of the early church was by himself facing the beast of his age. In this decisive day he testified that he believed in God until death. You can read chapter 7 of the book of Acts, he didn’t have a bible but he quoted scriptures from the days of Abraham to his day; he was redeeming the time, he was planted in the word of God. Br. Antoine told us that persecutions should not be a pretext to leave the Church but they are there to strengthen our faith in God. To be able to stand we have to take the word of God, so our faith will be nourished, this where the washing by the blood of the Lamb comes (Revelation 7:13-14).
